The competent crew course is the entry point into the RYA cruising scheme and we reckon that if people sign up for this course they will be hooked. We believe that nothing beats the feeling you get from being away from it all onboard a yacht on a blue sea with favourable winds. Once you cast off your moorings and set sail all the stresses of modern life seem to float away in the breeze and we want to share that with people!'

By the end of the course you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout and assist in all the day to day routines of sailing a yacht.

The Royal Yachting Association's cruising scheme is a set of qualifications which take you from novice sailor right up to their highest qualification of 'Yachtmaster'. Global Yacht Training offers all levels of RYA sail training up to Yachtmaster including Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper and theory classes so you we can help you progress from novice to experienced sailor with a series of courses at times to suit you. So if you have little sailing experience and want to get started the RYA Competent Crew course is ideal for you.

The courses run over five days and you will be staying onboard the yacht as you explore the Solent, a famous sailing hotspot in the South of England. Incredibly, all yacht expenses including fuel, mooring, skipper and food whilst aboard are included for this fantastic price.
