On the penultimate day of the 2014 Extreme Sailing Series, GAC Pindar recorded two wins during a mixed day of sailing for the Australian team.
Sailing in just 12 knots, GAC Pindar Skipper Nathan Wilmot celebrated his birthday by notching wins in Round 12 and Round 17 – results that were received by cheers from the Australian spectators around the harbour.
Wilmot commented: 'Birthday's don't get much better than picking up wins in front of our home crowd on Sydney Harbour.'
'Racing was really competitive today but it was great to record a couple of wins. Consistency wasn't there for us but there were some really positives signs of improvement, particularly when the team came alive in the races we won.'
After 18 rounds it's Alingi who top the leader board with 127 points, whilst GAC Pindar remain in ninth position with a total of 79 points.
Action continues tomorrow from 14:00 local time.
