GUL RS200 Nationals 2006 at Exe SC RS200
GUL RS200 National Championship - Tenby Sailing Club - 19 to 23 August 2007 - Only five weeks to go!!! If you have not yet sent in your entry form it is now about time you did so. The early entry fee of £145 is due to end on the 23 July after this date it will then rise to £170.

So especially for those of you who are off to Travemunde get your entry form sorted this coming week!

Tenby Sailing Club is a fabulous venue for a championship – a great, friendly clubhouse, easy launching from the beach directly into the open bay.

Everything from accommodation to pubs is within walking distance.

Pete and I have just returned from a meeting with Tenby SC to finalise the arrangements for the event. Surprisingly this is one club which Pete has never sailed from before and now after the meeting and seeing what an awesome place Tenby is his enthusiasum for the event has doubled.

This year we will see the return of the popular socials, discos, bands, happy hours, fancy dress, Karaoke. But new to this year we will have sport day classic games and more daily prizes than ever before (1st – 10th Overall, 1st – 3rd Silver and Bronze) so more sailors than ever will be competing for a prize.

And Thanks to all of the hard work of Sarah Allen, the final prizegiving Trophy table will be laden with many new, modern shiny Trophies. The racing will follow the usual format, with gate starts and this year we have TWO on water judges to give friendly help and advice on the rules front.

If you have not sailed at a major championship before, there is no better way to gain experience than at the GUL RS200 Nationals. Not only will there be daily seminars, advice and a buddy system, but, more important, there will be a critical mass of welcoming, supportive sailors who want to talk about RS200s! Come and give it a go!

So what are you waiting for? With competitors traveling from across the UK ensuring exciting racing, there is no doubt that this will be an awesome event. WHATEVER your standard, the RS200 Nationals is a MUST in the 2007 sailing calendar, and I guarantee you will have lots of fun!

For further information, including entry forms, please visit the RS200 Association website under Nationals.
