Extreme Sailing Series 2014 Act five Cardiff, UK - Today, the SAP Extreme Sailing Team announces two additions to their Extreme Sailing Series challenge. The new team members will significantly strengthen the line up with Christian Kamp, Americas Cup sailor and New Zealand’s Brad Farrand recruited to campaign in the hotly contested Extreme Sailing Series.TM

Denmark’s Christian Kamp brings a great deal of experience combined with a solid record as former Team Origin trimmer, and in his current role as a member of the Swedish Americas Cup Team, Artemis Racing, a challenger for the 35th Americas Cup. Christian was part of the Luna Rossa Challenge for the 32nd America’s cup 2005 before joining Team Origin in 2007. For three years he campaigned with Sir Ben Ainslie and Iain Percy in the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series, TP52 and World Match Racing Tour, winning the World title in 2010.

In recognition of his achievement he was awarded 2010 Danish Sailor of the year. His career highlights include three world championships, one European and three national titles; as well as more than 20 grade 1 level wins in match racing. More recently he sailed on board Team Aqua as trimmer in the RC44 circuit, winning the last three consecutive seasons.

New Zealand’s Brad Farrand, returns to the Extreme Sailing SeriesTM, since he previously competed in 2013 with GAC Pindar, as bowman-tactician. Farrand is pleased to be back on the grid for Act five in Cardiff, marking his re-engagement with the series wearing his new colours for the SAP Extreme Sailing Team.

With Nicolai Sehested and Peter Wibroe selected for a Danish entry to the Volvo Ocean Race, the SAP Extreme Sailing Team recognize their great contribution to the team this season, and are proud that the platform propelled them to the next level in professional racing in the world’s toughest ocean race.
