by Stephen Milne on 19 Oct 2012
The Gold Coast International Marine Expo features a 2.5 kilometre display circuit with over 200 leading marine brands Stephen Milne
Gold Coast International Marine Expo exhibitors and horse racing aficionados are encouraged to come dressed with a hint of Expo orange for the race that stops the nation on Tuesday, November 6.

The Gold Coast City Marina Shipyard Marquee will be abuzz with a sea of orange as revellers enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment, a delicious buffet lunch, cash bar, sweepstakes, and prizes for the best dressed on the shipyard.

In its 152nd year, the Melbourne Cup Race day is Australia’s most recognised and celebrated horse racing event, and this year Gold Coast International Marine Expo organisers are hosting a special celebration lunch at the Gold Coast City Marina Shipyard.

Gold Coast International Marine Expo spokesman, Stephen Milne, said everyone from the general public through to exhibitors were invited to attend the Nautilus Insurance Melbourne Cup Luncheon.

'This is the first time in Expo history that we have hosted a Melbourne Cup luncheon and we are offering all exhibitors two free tickets to thank them for their support of the Gold Coast International Marine Expo,' Mr Milne said.

'Our theme this year is the colour orange, which matches the Expo’s corporate colours, and we are encouraging people to frock up to celebrate the race that stops the nation.

'We will broadcast the race live on the big screen, report on the 2012 Gold Coast International Marine Expo and announce the dates for Expo in 2013.'

The Nautilus Insurance Melbourne Cup Luncheon starts at 1pm on Tuesday, November 6 at the Gold Coast City Marina Shipyard Marquee. Exhibitors will receive two free tickets but can buy additional tickets for $15 each. Members of the public can also pre-purchase tickets for $15 each. Bookings are essential and tickets must be pre-purchased before October 31 by contacting Sue at melbournecup@gcmarineexpo.com.au or call +61 7 5502 5888.
