Volvo Ocean Race – After an exciting race with very light winds Bouwe Bekking and his crew managed to win the In-Port Race of Gothenburg. With this result Team Brunel also secured the second position in the Overall In-Port series of this Volvo Ocean Race, only one point behind the winner Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing.
“After a slow start we sailed a good in-port race,” says Bouwe Bekking. “We’re very content with both second places. It has been a tremendous journey. I would thank all our fans for their support during the race. I’m very proud of the team. They have sailed a great campaign.”
“It’s no coincidence that the same two teams lead both the overall ranking and the In-Port series. Huge respect for Bouwe Bekking and his team,” said Ian Walker the skipper of Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing after the last In-Port Race.
