Sydney Harbour Regatta - Helly Hansen to back up 2013 event

by Matt McGrath on 12 Feb 2013
The Sydney Harbour Regatta continued their strong partnership with gear-maker Helly Hansen, which once again signed as major sponsor for the 2013 event. Hosted by Middle Harbour Yacht Club, March 9-10 2013, the Sydney Harbour Regatta is one of the largest, competitive keelboat regattas in Australia. The event attracts many of Australia's most prestigious racing yachts and a range of popular international yacht racing classes.

With over 200 keelboats racing in 24 divisions on nine course areas on Sydney Harbour and Offshore over two days, the regatta is a regular feature on the racing and social calendars of some of Australia’s most renowned yachts and their crews.

Helly Hansen General Manager Craig Ryan commented 'I'm delighted that we will once again be the major sponsor of the Sydney Harbour Regatta. An event which embodies the excitement of competing on such a grand stage as Sydney Harbour and of course with the great backing of Middle Harbour Yacht Club'.

Founded in Moss, Norway, in 1877, Helly Hansen continues to protect and enable professionals making their living on oceans and mountains around the world. Their apparel, developed through a blend of Scandinavian design and insights drawn from living in some of the harshest environments on earth, helps provide the confidence professionals need to step out into the elements and complete their jobs.

The company invented the first supple, waterproof fabrics more than 130 years ago, created the first fleece fabrics in the 1960s and introduced the first technical baselayers made with Lifa Stay Dry Technology in the 1970s. Today, Helly Hansen is the official uniform partner for more than 35 ski resorts and mountain guiding operations. The brand's outerwear, baselayers, sportswear and footwear for winter, outdoor and water sports are sold in more than 40 countries.

The Sydney Harbour Regatta is an iconic landmark sailing event for Sydney. The event provides an amazing spectacle with unlimited on-water action along with onshore social and lifestyle activities all taking part around the enviable waterfront location of MHYC on the Spit at Sydney Harbour Regatta Helly Hansen
