Sail-world.com expands customised toolbar for sailors in Europe

Sail-World.com the largest sailing marine news network in the world has an extra-ordinary amount of sailing content, currently 106,000 stories, with images and result stretching back sixteen years. This is easily the largest sailing database in the world. For serious sailors there is a European customised Sail-World toolbar that you can use now.

It provides Breaking news tickers from across all its sites world-wide, localised Twitter feed and Facebook links, enables fast searches and has a handy drop down for a whole range of Sail-world key elements,, access to all the latest Sail-World feature articles, content submit, full site search across those 106,000 stories, access to the complete newsletter archives and of course newsletter subscribe.

Our Sail-World Europe toolbar has been used by our editorial and support team around the world for the last month and we’ve been adding features day after day.

It is available now for Internet Explorer (6-9) Firefox and Chrome (PC only).

There's drop down explanations for the customised buttons, hover your mouse over each to see the function.

To the right there is an icon which will show the relative ranking of the site you are currently on. They are ranked one to ten million in the world, where No. 1 is just that, the most popular site in the world based on Alexa readership, and 10 millionth is at the tail of the field.

You can move off the Sail-World site with this toolbar, just key in the site address you want to visit in the usual way and you are there. Click on the Sail-World logo on the left of the toolbar to return to Sail-World.

Solitaire Bompard Le Figaro– Yoann blazes trail through Chenal du Four
Yoann Richomme on Skipper Macif 2014 is holding onto the lead he grabbed earlier in the 430-miles stage. This afternoon Richomme led a tight top-group of four boats through the notorious and spectacular, rock-strewn Chenal du Four off the Brittany coast south of Ushant in brisk conditions, with a two-nautical mile advantage over Morvan.

Provezza’s pair of threes trumps 52 Super Series fleet in Porto Cervo
Ergin Imre’s team bounced right back today opening the race with a nice pair of solid third places to lead the regatta. After two good races, Porto Cervo delivering a consistent 9-11kts of NNW’ly breeze and warm sunshine, and Provezza leads Rán Racing by two points. Niklas Zennström’s crew finished second behind Bronenosec in the first race and sixth in the second race which was won by Quantum Racing.

Iffy day for Azzurra at Settimana delle Bocche
It was iffy day for Azzurra who ended at first day of racing event that is also the second stage of the 52 Super Series After the strong north westerly Mistral winds that kept the fleet of twelve TP52s at port yesterday and eliminated the chances of a practice race, today there were lovely conditions in the Costa Smeralda with north westerly breezes at eight to 12 knots.

A Q&A with Simon Parker about the Clipper Race and trans-USA cycling
Sail-World.com talked with Simon Parker to hear about his audacious sailing and cycling adventure with the Clipper Race. Few adventures top crossing oceans, unless one also involves a multi-sport element such as climbing mountains. Simon Parker, a British journalist, raced across the Pacific Ocean with the Clipper Round The World Race, followed by a transcontinental bike ride, before rejoining his mates aboard Garmin for a transatlantic race. RCIYC Rossborough Insurance Round the Island Race Preview
Scheduled for 7th August the 40-mile race is open to both local and visiting sports boats, cruiser/racers and catamarans Starting at 0800 hours in St Aubin’s Bay, the fleet will head eastwards to the Violet Channel buoy on the southeast corner of the Island, thence anti-clockwise around the Island returning to St Aubin’s Bay to finish.
