PA Consulting and Allen RS Feva Worlds - Practice and opening day

2016 PA Consulting/Allen RS Feva World Championship - Opening ceremony Ian McCoy
2016 PA Consulting/Allen RS Feva World Championship - It’s officially Fiesta Week in Santander! Oh yes, in addition to the traditional massive fair and circus and two public holidays this week there is this year the RS Feva Worlds.

164 boats completed registration and had their practice race just out of the harbour entrance in front of the city beach. In typical style for practice races sailors didn’t obey strict racing protocols such as being behind the line for the start. 12 general recalls later racing was underway.

The forecast had the wind topping out at seven – eight knots but when the sea breeze kicked in a healthy 12-16 was the order of the day. Truly dreamy sailing. If it stays pretty much like this for the week then the sailors from 17 countries and 5 continents should go home very happy and exhausted. May they all have fun and may the best reign supreme! Good luck to all.

Thanks to PA Consulting, Allen Performance Sailing and RS Sailing/LDC for their generous sponsorship!
