Zenith partners the 'Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image' photo competition which brings together the most important ocean photographers from all over the world. For the fifth consecutive year, the best yacht racing photographers from all over the world are preparing to take part in the great 'Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image' international competition. The aim of this annual event is to bring together the best sailing images of the year on a virtual platform and to promote competitive sailing and its actors among the public.

No less than 82 ocean photographers representing 19 nations took part in the 2013 edition of the competition which was won by American Abner Kingman for a shot taken during the America’s Cup in San Francisco. More than a million people viewed the best images on the event’s website and on social networks.

Since its 2010 beginnings, the competition has been successively won by French photographer Thierry Martinez (2010 and 2011), by Maltese Kurt Arrigo (2012) and American Abner Kingman (2013). Once again, the battle promises to be intense in 2014 and the winner hard to pick from among the many amazing images generated by competitive sailing!

Two prizes will once again be awarded this year: the public prize, awarded according to the total of internet surfer vote; as well as the main prize awarded by an independent, international jury. The latter consists of Carlo Croce (ITA), President of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), Ken Read (USA), President of the North Sails Group, Karin Bäcklund (SWE), Commercial Director of the Volvo Ocean Race and head of sponsorship for Volvo cars, Antonio Palma (CH), managing partner and CEO of Mirabaud Private Bank as well as Abner Kingman (USA), overall winner of the 2013 edition of the competition.

The winner of the 1014 edition will receive a Zenith El Primero Chronomaster 1969 watch. All photographs will be available for viewing – and voting – from November 1st here.
