Mini Transat Iles de Guadeloupe – Lizzy Foreman climbs the peak

25 year-old British solo sailor Lizzy Foreman set off on the final 2,770nm leg of the Mini Transat Iles de Guadeloupe to Guadeloupe on 31st October in 'Hudson Wight', Hull 633, a 10-year old Series Mini 6.50m.

Lizzy took nine days and 13 hours (1250 nm) to race from France to Lanzarote on leg one. Lizzy took 19 days (2,770 nm) to reach Guadeloupe on leg two. Lizzy came in 32nd place and there are eleven more boats to finish.

She is also the first lady and first Brit overall in the Series class.

Jamie Scrimgeour, on behalf of Lizzy's primary sponsor, Hudson Wight Performance Sailwear, said: 'We are all so proud of Lizzy and her achievements throughout this race and congratulate her on this amazing accomplishment. We were delighted to have played our part in getting her to the start line and support her throughout the campaign. We wish her and her family a wonderful reunion and send our very best wishes.'

The date by which all the competitors need to finish, in order to qualify for a place, is November 28th.
