Mini 6.50 - Les prétendants au Vendée à la fête aux Sables-d’Olonne

Les deux candidats au tour du monde en solitaire et sans escale se partagent les honneurs dans l’épreuve Les Sables - Les Açores - Les Sables. Si Nicolas Boidevezi (ImaginAlsace) a dominé la deuxième étape, c’est bien l’Italien Giancarlo Pedote (Prysmian) qui, à la faveur d’une première manche remportée confortablement, s'impose au classement général.

'Rentrer dans le chenal des Sables-d’Olonne en tête, cela vaut bien la victoire au général!' Vainqueur ce mardi de la deuxième étape des Sables - Les Açores - Les Sables après 5j 21h 22mn 15s de mer (vitesse moyenne : 8,99 nœuds), Nicolas Boidevezi n’a pas caché sa satisfaction.

Ce fameux chenal doit donner des idées au skipper alsacien, candidat déclaré au prochain Vendée Globe… Boidevezi qui a pris la tête dès le deuxième jour de course pour ne plus jamais la quitter, malgré la pression constante de Giancarlo Pedote, à bord de son redoutable prototype à étrave ronde. En bon patron de la flotte, le skipper italien, autre prétendant au tour du monde en solitaire, a parfaitement géré l’avance conséquente dont il disposait sur Boidevezi : une douzaine d’heures au moment de quitter Horta. Pour Pedote, l'essentiel était d'arriver à bon port avec un bateau en parfait état, et surtout de l’emporter au classement général.

Sauf coup de théâtre, ce sera chose faite en début de soirée. Passé tout près de la victoire lors de la dernière Mini Transat, le skipper de Prysmian tient sa revanche. Bien que devancé de quatre heure par Michele Zambelli avant le départ de cette seconde manche, Nicolas Boidevezi décroche pour sa part la deuxième place au général. Au pointage de 17h, Zambelli était en effet à près de 90 milles de l’arrivée aux Sables. Boidevezi a donc largement compensé son retard. Lui aussi peut avoir la satisfaction du travail bien Vendee Globe
