At the Melges 32 Audi Tron Sailing Series, hosted by the Comitato Grande Vela, Andrea Ferrari's Spirit of Nerina, thanks to the tactical expertise of Roberto Spata, has taken leadership of the overall standings after one day of racing in Naples, Italy.

The Race Committee was able to run three races despite a very light Scirocco wind rewarding Ferrari as the leader of this first sailing day of this sailing circuit organised by B.Plan Sport and Events in cooperation with Melges Europe. The team leads by seven points, just ahead of Mascalzone Latino, helmed by Achille Onorato together with two - time olympic champion Nick Rogers. Mauro Mocchegiani's Giacomel Audi e-tron supported by the Audi Italia Sailing of Riccardo Simoneschi is third.

Fourth place goes to Eduardo Lupi's Torpyone. Rounding out the top five by a two point margin are Lupi, followed by Alessandro Rombelli's Azimut by Stig, each waiting for the discard to be applied after race six to get rid of the twelve collected on Race Two. Racing will resume tomorrow morning starting from 10.30 am facing similar weather conditions as today.

As in the past, the start of the Audi Tron Sailing Series means the return of the Audi test drives too. Anyone can demo the A3 g-tron, RS6 Avant, SQ5, and A1 SB Admired. For further details, please call 345.9585343, or e-mail at info@atton.it.

In addition to main sponsor Audi, the Audi Tron is supported by official sponsors Kuehne+Nagel, Torqeedo electric motors and technical partners such as the Ente Fiera di Genova, Nespresso and Olicor.
