Melges 20 World Championship set to deliver record breaking racing

Melges 20 World Championship set to deliver record breaking racing 2015 IM20CA
Sixty international Melges 20 teams representing an impressive 16 nations are currently registered for the forthcoming World Championship taking place at Marina di Scarlino/Club Nautico Scarlino on 24-28 August. This number ultimately writes a new chapter in International Melges 20 Class Association (IM20CA) history as it is the highest attendance level ever.

This marquee Class event comes after the completion of the first half of the 2016 racing season, a journey that started in January at the Miami Winter Series. Since then, nine 2016 World Ranking events have been completed and the playing field has been defined. But the Worlds is unlike any other event in which victory is controlled by pressure, stakes and the desire for affirmation.

As usual, the racing will be of the highest quality. Between the buoys, an excellent international panel of race officers and umpires, and a measurement team with rigorous enforcement will ensure pure one-design racing - an essential standard in the Melges 20 Class.

Shoreside, the amazing Melges Europe Team will have a presence devoted strictly to Melges 20 owners and dedicated to delivering their signature 'boat ready to sail at the dock' service. Top notch technical service and customer support will be also be available.

Club Nautico Scarlino and Marina di Scarlino have rolled out the red carpet for competitors. A welcoming reception and memorable social events overlooking the Gulf of Follonica in the heart of Tuscany await the fleet.

The official clothing supplier is Helly Hansen, and they are proudly supporting the event with a dedicated race office inside the 2016 Melges 20 World Championship Race Village.
