M32 Series Scandinavia – Canfield gunning for M32 catamaran glory

by Ingemar Allen on 11 Jun 2015
M32 Oslo Day - 2015 M32 Series Scandinavia M32 Series
Following the first event in Oslo three weeks ago, the M32 Series Scandinavia resumes this week at its next stop in Gothenburg, Sweden. Racing will be held within Gothenburg harbour, close to the shore where spectators will be provided with a bird's eye view of the action. Expectations for the M32 Series racing are high after a successful Norwegian opening event of the Series.

'Gothenburg is our hometown and we will be sailing in front of our fans. It will be hard to beat us,' says Dackhammar.

However never to be underestimated is Hans Wallén, the Star silver medallist from the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, whose Wallén Racing team dominated the M32 Series Scandinavia last year. Wallén ended up in sixth position in Oslo, but this may simply represent a slow start to his season.

Other teams set to be on the starting line in Gothenberg include: Rahm Racing (Mattias Rahm, Sweden), Alite Racing (Martin Strandberg, Sweden), Trifork (Jes Gram-Hansen, Denmark) and Hydra Sailing Team (Daniel Wallberg, Sweden, but sailing for Norway).

Racing will be streamed live at website. Races will start at 2pm local time from Friday until Sunday. The race is on!
