Grand Pravois Organisation - 42nd annual general meeting

by Grand Pravois Organisation Press on 25 Mar 2015
Grand Pravois Grand Pavois http://grand-pavois.com
Created in 1973, the association held its 42nd general meeting on Wednesday 25 February. A combined general meeting because changes were also voted concerning the association's statues.

Four retiring members...

Four members were retiring during this general meeting, with Jean-Paul Capron for the company Grassi Bateaux, Mr Nicolas Gardies for the company Fountaine-Pajot, Mr Yannick Hemet for the Bénéteau shipyard and Mr Max Métadier for the company Brunswick Marine in France.

After reading the votes of the members of the Grand Pavois association, comprising professionals from the water sports industry- a unique example in Europe! - the members re-elected to the Grand Pavois board of directors: Mr Jean-Paul Capron for the company Massif Marine, Mr Nicolas Gardies for the company Fountaine-Pajot, Mr Yannick Hemet for the Bénéteau shipyard and Mr Max Métadier for the company Brunswick Marine in France.

Two new members of the Board!
After the combined general meeting, the board of directors elected its board of governors for the coming year. There are two new members to the association's board of governors, with Mr Yannick Hemet for the Bénéteau shipyard to the position of Treasurer and Max Métadier for the company Brunswick Marine in France to the position of Secretary. These two new members replace respectively Mr Jean-Paul Capron (Massif Marine) and Mr Didier Le Moal (J Composites). Remember that all the directors are volunteers and meet every month to ensure the association's development.

A new name for the association
Major change: the name of the association is changing to become the Association Grand Pavois Organisation. Indeed, in view of the development of the association's activities with the organisation of Les Nauticales in La Ciotat for Marseilles Provence Metropolis Urban Community, the setting up of a new format for the Rallye des Iles du Soleil and, since 1973, the organisation of the Grand Pavois La Rochelle, not to mention the various water sports events organised by the association in the past (Shenzhen International Boat Show, Transat 6.50 Charente-Maritime/Bahia, Baptême du 60’ Imoca Macif, etc.), it was logical to see the association's name change.

The dates of the Grand Pavois La Rochelle 2015, 2016 and 2017.
It was also during the association's 42nd general assembly that the dates of the next three editions of the Grand Pavois were confirmed. The Grand Pavois La Rochelle 2015 will be held from 16 to 21 September, the Grand Pavois La Rochelle 2016, from 21 to 26 September and, in 2017, from 13 to 18 September.

Signature of a petition against the project of Charges on mooring places...
A petition was also signed during this combined general meeting by all of the association's members against the setting up of a charge for mooring places. This charge is seen as a tax which would be harmful to the entire water sports sector and the practice. 'We cannot remain deaf and mute with regard to the introduction of this charge”, explained Alain Pochon, President of the association. “It is our role to react to this and alert the political world and our partners from local and regional authorities about the dangers of such a measure. We have sent a letter to our member of parliament, Mr Olivier Falrni, who immediately, in person, alerted the Prime Minister, Mr Manuel Valls, of the potential consequences of such a measure. We are monitoring this subject very closely and we are in contact with our member of parliament who remains our main contact! '
