The Gazprom Swan European Regatta, a key event in the ClubSwan calendar, now in its 17th year is a long-standing event for Nautor’s Swan. 2013 marks the first edition of the regatta with ClubSwan partner, Gazprom, and the introduction of the Gazprom Swan 60 World Championships to the racing itinerary. The Swan 45 fleet will also gather for a 10th time in pursuit of winning the Asprey crafted Swan 45 Gold Cup.

With racing run by one of the world’s most famous yacht clubs, the Royal Yacht Squadron, the regatta has attracted loyal repeat entrants with classics including five of the original Swan 36 design, returning 2011 champions, first time new owners with yachts fresh from their build in Finland, current SwanLine - Swan 53 and 60 yachts, families racing with a mix of generations, those gearing up for major competitions such as the New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup and global sailing stars.

The Swan fleet will flock to Cowes on the UK’s Isle of Wight relishing five packed days of racing, married with elegant social occasions ashore. A truly international list of owners entering will bring crew from all over the world including eight different nations.

The Gazprom Swan 60 World Championships has ensured high profile racing names such as Brad Butterworth (NZL), Adrian Stead (GBR) and Tommaso Chieffi (ITA). These professional sailors are known for their collective success in everything from the America’s Cup to the Olympics. Brad Butterworth, tactician for Sir Peter Ogden’s British Swan 60 entry, Knights of Crevichon, has 16 America’s Cup wins to his name and will be one to watch on the race track.

Following on from Nautor’s recent launch of a pure cruising range, the inaugural World Championships of the Gazprom Swan 60 Class – now a leading one design fleet on the international racing circuit with a full calendar of offshore and inshore racing through 2017 and 50 prizes to be won over five days, the Gazprom Swan European regatta will provide a quality event to the 2013 ClubSwan calendar.

The complete package
A thriving clubhouse leads to higher racing attendance, and visa versa I'm a great believer in starting things on the right foot. Be that in the morning, going for a run (even though it was damn chilly this morning) to set yourself up for the day, or preparing ahead for a meeting so that you've got the figures to hand.
