The countdown is on to the Extreme Sailing Series Act 4, Porto.
The teams have spent today making final preparations to their Extreme 40s in the technical area at Douro Marina and putting in some last minute training time on the water before proceedings get underway tomorrow (Thursday 5th July).
The forecast is predicting glamour sailing conditions for this Portuguese debut with up to 15 knots of breeze and gusts of up to 22 knots forecast for the first two days.
Racing takes place over four days from the 5-8 July with open water racing each morning followed by stadium style racing each afternoon as the Douro river providing the playground with the cities of Porto and Gaia providing a historic backdrop.
To make the most of the spectacular setting and to showcase the Extreme 40s in Portugal for the first time, the fleet will race in different formats, with fleet racing to match racing, straight line duels and speed trials likely to take place over the four days.
