On the penultimate day of the Extreme Sailing Series in Singapore Seve Jarvin and his GAC Pindar crew stormed to two race victories and secured two podium places.
In a tremendous response to the frustrations of the first two days of racing, Team GAC Pindar beat current Act leaders, Red Bull Sailing Team to the line in the second flight of the day. The all-Aussie crew went on to take another inspiring victory ahead of Team Aberdeen in the fourth race of the day.
The young Australian crew appeared to end the day with a second place finish in the final flight of the day, only to be given a penalty at the finish line. Despite this, the team’s overall performance was much more consistent.
GAC Pindar Principal, Andrew Pindar says: 'I think if you consider our average placing in the races we finished this week, had we not been forced out of five races, we could have snuck into the top three. However, today we witnessed one of the best performances in our history of competition in the Extreme Sailing Series. '
Pindar continues: 'I joked with Seve and the crew last night that we had seventy five guests watching today and I asked the guys for a big performance. They definitely delivered and we’re hoping for more of the same tomorrow.'
With just one day of racing remaining at the Extreme Sailing Series in Singapore, GAC Pindar currently lies in seventh place with 124 points.
Racing continues Sunday February 8 at 14:30 (GMT+8).
