Extreme Sailing Series - All4One Racing Team returns

by Extreme Sailing Series™ on 24 Sep 2013 At the Extreme Sailing Series™, the French-flagged All4One Racing Team is set to return as the invitational team at the penultimate Act of the year in Nice, 3th-6th October, presented by Land Rover.

After a successful ‘Stadium Racing’ debut in 2011 in Singapore, the team of French multihull specialists will test their mettle against the seasoned Extreme 40 teams under the colours of ‘the first club by All4One ’ supported by the first club, ID-PROM and Land Rover.

Jean-Christophe Mourniac will be the man in the driving seat and brings a mass of multihull experience ranging from the Tornado, F18, Open 60 and Extreme 40 racing. Mourniac, who last sailed on the Series in 2012 with Alinghi, is eager to get back on the Extreme 40 racecourse: 'The Extreme Sailing Series™ is a very interesting circuit where the sporting level is extremely high and where very well known teams participate. Everyone races on the same boat, the Extreme 40, a very fast multihull.

We are lucky enough to be able to sail close to the public and do more than 30 races in each Act. The concept is magical, the organisation is highly professional, and so the result is an exceptional circuit.' Continuing to talk about the future aspirations of All4One Racing Team Mourniac said: 'This will be the second time we participate in the Extreme Sailing Series™ with Stéphane Kandler, the team’s CEO. The common goal is to perform as best as we can in Nice with the view of entering a boat for the entire 2014 season.'

Mutlihull expert Stéphane Christidis, the French London 2012 Olympic representative in the 49er whose hometown is Nice, will be the mainsail trimmer while Arnaud Jarlegan, a Nacra 17 sailor who was part of Energy Team in the America’s Cup World Series, will trim the headsail. Julien Cressant an experienced Open 60 and Extreme 40 sailor, who also hails from Nice, will be on the bow while Romain Petit will bring valuable Extreme 40 experience to the tactician’s role having sailed with Groupe Edmond de Rothschild in 2012 who won the Act in Nice last year.

The multihull will be increasingly more prominent in regattas and one example is the America's Cup. A team such as All4One must therefore participate in this event, especially considering the great French talent in this type of boats. As it has been the case in previous sailing events where we have successfully participated, I put into practice methods inspired in the corporate world to be able to maximise the return for our partners and to improve the sporting performance element.'

The fleet of eight Extreme 40 catamarans will race on the Bay of Angels in front of the world famous Promenade des Anglais for the penultimate Act of the year.
