Book Feature, eBook- 'Where Wild Winds Blow'

by Jack Binder on 24 Mar 2013
Banyandah in a well-earned rest .. .
'Where Wild Winds Blow' is a remarkable adventure story of two modern-day explorers. It tells of a sea voyage in a home-built yacht, Banyandah, which takes Jack and Jude Binder twice across the Great Southern Ocean, half way around Australia through some of the roughest seas known to man.

'Where Wild Winds Blow' is written in Jack’s inimitable style – sometimes brash, often touching but always heart warmingly honest. The author has a masterly way of seeing and appreciating Nature in all its awesome beauty, and an engaging way of describing their connection with it.

The book exudes the child-like enthusiasm Jack and Jude experience when investigating new places – windswept islands where few people have walked before – and of the trials they encounter along their journey.

But 'Where Wild Winds Blow' reveals more than the intoxication of a sea voyage in the company of dolphins, whales and sea eagles, it also relates to the pain of a perfect storm, of an encounter with modern-day pirates, of broken equipment and of being nearly shipwrecked, of the intense chill of Antarctic winds, and of course, the constant challenge and changing moods of the sea.

'Where Wild Winds Blow' is a great complement to their earlier book 'Two’s a Crew' and a recommended read for anyone who loves the sea.

eBook with more than 90 photos and maps, available in formats for all eReaders ….. Priced at $5 with immediate download available from their website - http://jackandjude.com/books/ebook-wwwb/

Parlier reigns supreme in Hydrofoil Worlds
The south westerly breeze kicks over the land mass over north facing beach, making for flat water despite strong wind. Whatever the shortcomings of the Fremantle Doctor on the first day of competition, were made up for in spades on day two, when the wind kicked in early at 15 knots and quickly built to 18 with gusts as high as 26. The Rockingham course is perfectly suited to such conditions. The south westerly breeze kicks over the land mass over the north facing beach, making for flat water despite strong wind.
