Argo Group Gold Cup 2013 - Match racing at its best

Argo Group Gold Cup 2013. The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and Argo Group have set the dates for the upcoming match racing event. The penultimate event on the Alpari World Match Racing Tour is scheduled to start 8 October on Hamilton Harbour in Bermuda. Racing will continue through the finals and the prizegiving at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club on Sunday 13 October.

October is a perfect time to sail and vacation in Bermuda and the Argo Group Gold Cup is a showcase ‘spectator’ event culminating in the exciting finals weekend October 12th-13th. All Gold Cup racing is spectator friendly with courses set in Hamilton Harbour from just off of the RBYC marina wall to the harbour shore along the gardens of the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel. Special rates for Gold Cup week are available at the Hamilton Princess Hotel.



This year will mark the 63rd staging of races for the King Edward VII Gold Cup Trophy, with previous winners including some of the greatest names ever to match race. Since the event was reformatted to be an event under the Match Racing Association in 1985, multiple winners include Chris Dickson (NZL), Russell Coutts (NZL), Peter Gilmour (AUS), and Ben Ainslie (GBR).

The Argo Group Gold Cup is the penultimate sixth stage of the Alpari World Match Racing Tour, in which the teams compete for the ISAF Match Racing World Championship. Match racing in Bermuda for The King Edward VII Gold Cup is recognized as one of the classic heritage events on the Alpari World Match Racing Tour.



The 11th annual RenaissanceRe Jr Gold Cup will also be sailed October 10-13 in Bermuda. Argo Group Gold Cup and RenaissanceRe Jr Gold Cup finals weekend is a spectacular time to visit Argo Group Gold Cup 2013

A bold decision on the English coast, opting for the more offshore route saw Hardy tumble 20 places down the leaderboard Justine Mettraux (Teamwork) retains her place in the top 10 standing of the fourth stage finishing in ninth position, this result enough to take the seventh place position in the General standings beating her closest rival by under three minutes. Mettraux takes the highest ranked International competitor and also the top female competitor in the 2017 edition!

La Solitaire URGO Le Figaro – Race leaders decided in Dieppe
At two o'clock this morning, the fleet sailed downwind in 20 knots of wind along the cliffs of the Alabaster coast. Upon passing the last mark of the course ‘Antifer’ at 2:40am it was Alexis (Custopol) who held the lead. With a dense race full of twists and turns, Alexis had taken the lead several times, especially when passing the island of Sein and before the Four channel, is winning his bet.
