Groupama Race - ORMA60's and supermaxis take the podium and records

The New-Zealand trimaran Vodafone/Frank Racing, has sailed the 654 miles race in 2 days 33mn 12s, sailing the course with an average speed above 20kts.

Vodafone also wins the Multi Club ranking. The skipper Simon Hull says he will be back in 2018, to sail around the biggest lagoon in the world in less than two days!



The supermaxi Scallywag (100 feet) holds the record for monohulls. She sailed around New Caledonia in 2 days 13h 19mn and 55s.



On IRC, the two maxis from Hong-Kong, Beau Geste, and Scallywag, are on the podium, ahead of the Australian Ichi Ban. Beau Geste is the IRC winner.

On ORC, officials had to wait for the last monohull to arrive to determine the final results. Finally, Banque de Nouvelle-Calédonie is the winner on ORC, ahead Boulègue Pao Production, and Ketal the smallest boat which achieved a great “tactical” performance during the race with a crew of just four!
