2015 Pringles Kitesurf World Cup – Fifth stop preview

by VKWC on 20 Aug 2015
Freestyle and Slalom - Pringles Kitesurf World Cup Sankt Peter Ording VKWC
Pringles Kitesurf World Cup Sankt Peter Ording – The fifth stop of the Virgin Kitesurf World Championships is approaching fast, so get ready to see the best kiteboarders from around the globe join forces in what has become the World's biggest kiteboarding event, from 21st to 30th of August 2015.

Watch the top riders come together and battle it out for a spot on the podium in both the freestyle and slalom disciplines.

If you are wondering what you can expect during this mammoth event in the North Sea, let us fill you in! Apart from the 10 days of full kiteboarding action, you will also be able to participate in an array of different activities. At the Kitelife Village, you can find many brands who will be presenting their collections and offering equipment testing. Brands that will be represented include Mystic, Brunotti, F-one, North Kiteboarding, ION, Cabrinha, Best and many more.

There will be musical highlights offered throughout the night, as well as many other activities that include slack line, stand up paddle, beach volley and much more. The ten-day event will have great kitesurf action during the day, and endless parties during the night. The 10-year anniversary will be nothing short of spectacular!

Be sure to tune in to all the action as we post live results on our Facebook and Twitter pages throughout the event. Who will make it to the podium during this time? Previous events have seen a true battle between the VKWC top riders; will Christophe Tack (BE/Liquid Force) manage to climb to the top of the ranking? Or will the young 17 year old Brazilian Carlos Mario (Slingshot) manage to take yet another win? Perhaps Liam Whaley (ES/Cabrinha) will be fully recovered from his injury and make his way back on to the podium. On the women's side, will Bruna Kajiya (BR/Airush) manage to take another victory away from Karolina Winkowska (PL/Slingshot) and Gisela Pulido (ES/Best)? Not forgetting Paula Novotna (CZ/North) and Annabel Van Westerop (AUA/Cabrinha) who are hot on their heels. This promises to be full of action and surprises!

St Peter Ording also gives us the opportunity to enjoy the first Slalom event of the season. These races are action packed and full of entertainment, so let's see if last year's winners Bryan Lake (US/Ozone) and Katja Roose (NL/Airush) will manage to get ahead of the pack and lead the way to the podium for this discipline.

This stop will also host the Men's and Women's World Qualifiers Freestyle (WQF) for the second half of the 2015 season, which gives a chance for new competitors to fight hard for a spot in the main event.

The current top 14 men and seven women below are already pre-qualified for the second half of the season and will be joined by top seven men and four women from the WQF, as well as men's wildcards Marian Hund (North), Linus Erdmann (Slingshot), and Sabrina Lutz (North) on the women's side. Former top VKWC competitor and German star Mario Rodwald (Gaastra) will also join the event thanks to an Injury wildcard.

So let's get ready for what promises to be a spectacular event in St. Peter Ording!
