2014 Kitesurf Tour Europe Italy - Freestyler dominating day two of the KTE Italy the morning we started again with the Skippers' meeting at 10 am. The wind was already stronger than the day before, so that we were able to start with Formula Racing at 11 am. Race Director Markus Schwendtner decided to start the day with three races and keep an eye on the increasing wind. Olly once again dominated the races winning two of the three races, and coming a close second in the final race, due to hitting a plastic bag in the water just 10m from the line.

At around 1 pm we started the Single Elimination of the European Championships in Freestyle 2014 straight after the third race was finished. The Freestyle Crew were well prepared and able to start with the first men heat Garofalo v Fidenzi and Coccoluto v Ragazzoni. The level of the Italian competitors is really high. Also they were really well prepared for the light wind conditions as showing great freestyle moves the past days on 13.5 and 17 qm kites. Current Italian Champion in Freestyle, Garofalo advanced into the next round and was meeting Rens van der Schoot from the Netherlands. Also Coccoluto advanced into the next round and needed to ride against Sander Bos. Jan Novotny from the Czech Republic showed his skills against Danish Nikolaj Holmund and advanced into the next round where he met current European Champion Mario Rodwald from Germany.

World Champion in Formula Racing, Florian Gruber, is also competing in the Freestyle Division, but got kicked out from Dylan van der Meij who advanced into the Semi Final where he met Mario Rodwald. With great tricks like KGB5, Front Mobe 5 Mario was able to make the finals. Yet Dylan van der Meij has his Low Mobes down like nobody else in this competition, giving the crowd and the judges something to cheer about.

In the girls division the Italian Rider Francesca Bagnoli made it to the final against Paula Novotna, who is back on the water after recovering from knee injury. She proved that the girls have also increased their level of riding showing the first ever Low Mobe in the KTE. Bagnoli also showed nice tricks like smobes, back to blind and so on but in the end it was Paula Novotna who took the win over Bagnoli. Coming in close third and fourth position, Rosanna Jury and Noussa Denkler fought it out in the loosers final, with Jury narrowly taking the win.

All in all, it was a very successful day for both the freestyle and the racing, and the riders can all look forward to a large party down on the beach tonight with 10000 people expected in attendance.
