2010 Blokart World Championships Day 4, Auckland Team Report

by Ross Vickers on 17 Oct 2010
Plenty of wind for day 4 in Ostend - 2010 Blokart World Championships Jan Marques

The expected northerly front hit Ostend, Belgium overnight and provided excellent racing for day 4 of the 2010 Blokart World Championships.

The strong winds made the race officers decision to race an easy one and meant that four races for each division were able to be sailed.

The Auckland Blokart Club Team had a strong day dominating the heavy weight division with team members Russell Harray’s 1, 2, 2, 1 for the 4 races held today, closely followed by John Nicholson’s 2, 1, 3, 2 and ABC team member Alex Stol also recording a win.

Other Team members Grant Crawshay and Jenny Hales performed well in their middle weight division, whilst the one ton division saw Paul Becket, the blokart designer, move in to first place overall with 4 straight wins for the day.

Tomorrow is the final day for the 2010 Blokart World Championships and organisers are expecting another day of light to moderate winds. Racing will move back to the sealed track for the morning, in an effort to get more racing in, before heading to the beach for low tide mid afternoon.

Full results to follow when released.

See www.abc.gen.nz for team reports (under live news) or, www.blokartworlds2010.com for further event information.
