La Reina Sofía preside la entrega de premios del Sofía Iberostar

La Reina doña Sofía ha presidido esta tarde la entrega de la 46 edición del Trofeo S.A.R. Princesa Sofía Iberostar, en el que han competido 1.300 regatistas de 64 países durante toda la semana pasada en la Bahía de Palma.

Al acto, que se ha celebrado en Ses Voltes a partir de las 20.00 horas, han asistido varias de las principales autoridades de la isla: Teresa Palmer, delegada del Gobierno en Baleares; Mateo Isern, alcalde de Palma; Fernando Aznar, comandante general de las Islas Baleares; Joan Rotger, vicepresidente del Cultura, Patrimonio y Deportes del Consell de Mallorca; Jaime Martínez, conseller de Turismo y Deportes del Govern balear; Joan Jaume, alcalde de Llucmajor, así como Aurelio Vázquez, consejero delegado para Europa, Oriente Medio y Africa del Grupo Iberostar, y los presidentes de la Federación Balerar de Vela, Joaquín González Devesa, y de los clubes náutico y marítimo de S'Arenal y San Antonio de la Playa, Oscar Estellers y Juan Antonio Cardona, respectivamente.

Las regatistas neozelandesas Jo Aleh y Polly Powrie, de la clase 470 W, vencedoras absolutas del 46 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Iberostar, han sido las grandes protagonistas del acto.

El país que más medallas ha obtenido ha sido Gran Bretaña (7), seguido de Francia (6) y Dinamarca (4). Los regatistas franceses han conseguido dos oros, al igual que los ingleses.
