Rex Gorell Prestige Etchells Australian Championships 2011, Royal Geelong Yacht Club (AUS) - TRIAD Teri Dodds http://www.teridodds.com
This gallery of images from the Rex Gorell Prestige Etchells Australian Championship 2011 is presented by photographer Teri Dodds.

Teri is a ‘Geelong Gal’ through and through and smiles broadly when she speaks of the area she obviously loves.

Her family have been sailing the waters of Corio Bay since she was a toddler, and have been members of the Royal Geelong Yacht Club since the early ‘70s. Teri’s brother and mother are ocean sailors, while Teri and her father prefer Bay sailing.

Teri herself skippered an all-girl crew until she was six months pregnant but now as a Mum can’t quite find the time to sail on a regular basis, but does attend as many regattas as possible to capture all the action out on the water.

As a local, Teri has been covering Geelong Week for an extended period of time, both the festival itself and the regatta.

Her portfolio includes images from Hamilton Island Race Week, Airlie Beach Race Week, Sydney to Hobart, on the water or in a chopper, Melbourne to Launceston and any major regattas around Victoria.

Teri is passionate when it comes to the Variety Splash, which she started covering last year. It is a fundraiser for children with disabilities, raising funds for equipment to help them live a normal life as best they can. It takes place during the last weekend in February on Victorian waters.

Teri explained ‘We start at Docklands, we are off to Queenscliff this year for a function and then we go to the Mornington Yacht club and then up to Sandringham. Each night we have fun raising events - silent auctions and bidding wars between the big motor boats that come and join us. It is lots of fun. Icing on the cake after Audi Victoria Week.'
