by Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week on 27 May 2008
The second annual Sunferrries Magnetic Island Race Week, at beautiful Magnetic Island off Townsville in tropical North Queensland, will be sailed from Friday 5th to Tuesday 9th September 2008, under the auspices of the Townsville Cruising Yacht Club.

If an owner/skipper and crew might be interested in racing at Magnetic Island’s second annual race week in September 2008, race organisers will send you the DVD of the 2007 series so you can get a feeling for the event, the venue and the Click here to register interest

Last year's regatta proved a huge success. It was a hard fought contest and the IRC division winner was not decided until the last Round the Bay Race. This year there will more serious players and some well known party animals. The Wolverines will add their special brand of fun to the whole event.

Regatta Director Denis Thompson is looking forward to the 2008 series. 'This venue has enormous potential; the local sailing community has worked hard to make it a success. The facilities are excellent, marina water depths are better than we expected with quite deep drafted yachts able to use the outer harbour and the water provide great sailing.'
