DeckHardware plans for a big presence at 2012 Sydney Boat Show

DeckHardware will be on stand 316 in Hall 3 next to the stage.

So come say Hi to our Team at this year’s show. We will be celebrating the results from Sailing at the Olympics during the show, come along and share this special time with our team. DeckHardware supplies Liros Rope to the Australian Sailing Team along with PROtect Tape. We will have a stand that you can touch and feel and plenty of people to talk to!

DeckHardware Ambassador Ben King will be on hand for the first time at Sydney. We will have a dedicated splicing area where you can come and chat to Ben about different techniques and rope types. We will also have good friends from within the industry as well as sailors helping us out. Ben used to work in one of the Chandlery’s in Perth and is a fantastic addition to our team for this boat show as his knowledge of boats is invaluable. He has assisted us at the past two Sanctuary Cove International Boat Shows.

On the weekend we will have our younger ambassadors Georgia Llewellyn and Emma Harris also helping us out. They love to talk sailing so do stop by and have a chat to the girls. Georgia recently joined skipper Jaime Swavely as part of the New South Wales Youth Sailing Team (associated with NSWIS). They will be sailing in the 420 class hoping to compete in as many of the upcoming regattas as they can.

Once again we will have a Heron on our stand however this year it is a brand new Heron put together by Dinghy Sports at Mona Vale NSW. We will have many Heron sailors on the stand including the girls and Georgia’s father Rhys. Rhys has sailed Dinghies as well as Sportsboat’s and recently he has spent a lot of time coaching both children and Adults. We will also have well known Heroner Goughy on hand to talk about the boats. We are hoping 2012 National Champion Greg Harris will also be joining us during the show.

During the weeknights well known sailor Shane Guanaria will be spending some time on the stand. Shane started his sailing at MHYC the same time as Melissa and has campaigned 7 Syd-Hobarts ranging from Sydney 38's to the 100 foot super-maxi Investec Loyal and has sailed competitively in dinghies ranging from Lasers, Tasars, 18's and currently 505's. Shane has also worked in the industry for 16 years and would be more than happy to talk setups and campaign plans with you.

On Thursday evening Adventures of a Sailor Girl Nic Douglass will be joining us. Nic is a multiple world and national champion in the Tasar class, and has also been successful in women’s match racing. Nic is featured on our Facebook Page as well as being a DeckHardware Ambassador so come and have a chat with Nic about all the Sailing she is doing, including her plans for campaigning the 470 dinghy.
Our team will also be hosting a seminar each day in the Deckhouse Theatrette!
Where: Hall 6
When: 1730 – 1800

New to the boat show is the Deckhouse Theatrette! Hear short presentations from boat show exhibitors about the latest products and services from companies such as Volvo Penta, DeckHardware and Nautilus Marine Insurance.

Hear the latest in boating safety from NSW Roads and Maritime Boating Safety Officers and be introduced to inflatable PFDs by Stormy. If it’s a change of scenery you’re after then let Pacific Sailing School talk you through how to obtain an International Certificate of Competence, or explore options for a career on the international Superyacht circuit.
