'Island Cruising Association - cruising Fiji'    .

New Zealand's most successful cruising operation, the Island Cruising Association, has arrived in Australia in the form of its Western Pacific Rally, providing a unique opportunity for Aussie cruising sailors to build on their skills, with a just-announced series of cruising preparation seminars in Mackay, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney and Hobart.

Half the New Zealand Fleet in the current rally arrived in Townsville, while the rest opted for Mackay. They are joined in their delight for the weather Australia has turned on for them, and they are all looking forward to meeting in the Whitsundays next week. Watch out, Whitsundays, for the invasion of Kiwis!

John and Lyn Martin, who head the Island Cruising Association, are running the seminars, and with their long experience of cruising the Pacific these will be covering all the issues of long range cruising, particularly in the mercurial Pacific waters.

Island Cruising Association - John and Lyn can offer a wealth of experience -  .. .

Numbers are limited for these seminars in order to allow a more one on one approach. The seminars are aimed at people who are just getting started and cover both extended coastal cruising and of course offshore with a look at what's needed to comprehensively set up the boat as well as the skipper and crew. Even if you have done considerable cruising yourself, you will find good value in the exchange of ideas in these seminars

The idea of course is to get more people out there and doing so safely while enjoying it to the max.

A full syllabus is available on the ICA website www.islandcruising.co.nz
