Sail-World.com has developed a toolbar that you can download and fit into the top of your web browser to simplify the way you access sailing stories on the web.

Sail-World.com has developed a toolbar that you can download and fit into the top of your web browser to simplify the way you access sailing stories on the web.

For anyone in the sailing industry this rating information is an essential check on your own website statistics. It is also a good way of measuring sites and events where your stories and advertising are appearing - so you are getting traffic shifted to your site, or awareness of your products and brands are being seen by a much wider audience.

The Sail-World toolbar fits easily into your web browser, giving a new window on the sailing world -     Click Here to view large photo
Tens of thousands of sailing fans flock to Sail-World.com each day from around the world. We've been running online for 16 years and have amassed a massive archive of stories and information.

By downloading the Sail-World toolbar, you are able to access this archive regardless of whether the event happened a minute ago, or a decade or more previously. You can also see whats happening on our Facebook page, see the latest Tweets and review a feed of the latest stories - all with just a couple of mouse clicks.

Don't forget that Sail-World runs more than a dozen websites around the world all customised to fan interest in that region. With the Sail-World toolbar you can access what these sites are showing now, and you can access the full story archive for all those regions.

There's a bunch of shortcuts from a drop down menu, which will allow you to access all the features in Sail-World from story and picture submission, newsletter archives, special event sites, providing feedback, advertiser information and more.

Of course, you can continue to use your browser the way you always have, the Sail-World toolbar from Alexa is just giving you that ability to fly foil-borne through the interweb.

And you can turn the toolbar off within two clicks of the mouse, if you wish.

We've used Alexa's standard toolbar at Sail-World for years. It gives us very basic information about our site, our competitors sites, and allows us to track trends in the Interweb, independently of our own statistics.

Alexa statistics are garnered from a subscriber base of 10 million and for sites ranking in the top 100,000 in the world provide a useful indication of performance and reader profiles.

Our Sail-World New Zealand tool bar has been used by our editorial team in New Zealand for the last month and it will give you one click access to everything we have published on any Sail-World site.

If you want to know what is happening on the New Zealand sailing scene and internationally, install this toolbar now. For the web challenged, this toolbar will help you navigate to the latest news. You can visit each of the Sail-World regional sites to see stories and images that are published uniquely on those sites.

Your window on the sailing world just got a whole lot bigger - and at the click of a mouse! Get it now!

To install the toolbar click here

It's available now for Internet Explorer (6-9) Firefox and Chrome (PC only).

There's drop down explanations for the customised buttons, hover your mouse over each to see the function.

To the right there is an icon which will show the relative ranking of the site you are currently on. They are ranked 1 to 10 million in the world, where 1 is just that, the most popular site in the world based on Alexa readership, and 10 millionth is at the tail of the field.

You can move off the Sail-World site with this toolbar, just key in the site address you want to visit in the usual way and you are there. Click on the Sail-World logo on the left of the toolbar to return to Sail-World.

Enjoy!

Here's the steps and screenshots to help you through the download and install process which should take about 30 seconds

After clicking on the link in the story above, you should see a page like this. Click on the Install Toolbar -  Sail-World .   Click Here to view large photo

Next you should see a screen like this, Accept the Conditions -  Sail-World .   Click Here to view large photo

You will then get a series of screens as the Toolbar installs itself, just accept or Ok the options asking if you want to install etc. You should finish with a screen that looks like this (the first one you saw), except now you can see the Sail-World toolbar has installed below the other toolbars -  Sail-World .   Click Here to view large photo

Click the appropriate drop down menu (this is on a Mac) to see the toolbars you have active and turn any off that you don’t want. You can stop using the Sail-World toolbar by turning it off here, if you wish. -  Sail-World .   Click Here to view large photo

Finally close down any superflous tabs that you may have open and click on the Sail-World icon on the left of the Sail-World toolbar. You should return to Sail-World’s home page. If not, turn the toolbar off (see below) and drop us a line at nzeditor@sail-world.com -  Sail-World .   Click Here to view large photo
