'Lake Macquarie Yacht Club'
To the locals, Lake Macquarie, about 150km north from Sydney, offers without a doubt some of the best boating waters in Australia. This iconic boating region is about to be further enhanced with the commencement of major marina developments and the efforts of the regions leading boating businesses.
Lake Macquarie Yacht Club is undertaking significant expansion to cater for the growing berthing requirements of the region, adding a further eighty berths, which will be completed this year. On the other side of the Lake, Marmong Point Marina will soon be commencing construction on Stage 2 of their marina, as well as building dry storage facilities and a 124 seat restaurant.

The additional berthing and marine infrastructure projects will be welcomed by the Lake Macquarie boating public and will aid the efforts of the regions leading boating business, Australian Boat Brokers.
Lee Bradley and his family have been selling and servicing boats in the region for over 20 years and have a proud reputation for offering the ultimate in customer service from their waterfront offices located at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club and Marmong Point Marina.
'This is a fantastic opportunity as boating in and around our Dealerships is about to become even more popular', said Lee Bradley. 'The developments at our two key marinas are long overdue, taking pressure off the demand for berths on Lake Macquarie and opening this boating jewel for even more people to enjoy.'
Whilst it is obvious to anyone who visits beautiful Lake Macquarie they are enjoying a special part of Australia, there are a few aspects which may not be so obvious, as pointed out by the Lake Macquarie Yacht Club:
Lake Macquarie is Australia's largest coastal saltwater lake
Lake Macquarie provides non-tidal, flat waters virtually year round
With 150km of magnificent foreshore, Lake Macquarie is four times the size of Sydney Harbour and is many times less crowded
With deep water and consistent winds, Lake Macquarie provides the perfect conditions for the serious business of yacht racing and regattas
There is ocean access for yachts drawing up to two metres and easy land access for trailable boats of all kinds
Lake Macquarie provides some of the best cruising grounds and safest all-weather anchorages on the east coast
Lake Macquarie is not burdened with commercial shipping
Lake Macquarie has regular NE sea breezes in summer
While it's always a good time to go boating on and around the majestic Lake Macquarie, it's getting better!
