Yacht of the Week: The superyacht not - the Dunia Baru

'Dunia Baru sailing'    .

The word superyacht carries connotations of sleek modern lines, large motors, fast speeds, and anything but traditional lines. Now there's a superyacht - one you can charter for holidays in South East Asia - which is everything the normal superyacht is not.

So-called 'Superyacht' Dunia Baru ('New World') is making her yacht show debut this year in Singapore, at the Singapore Yacht Show. Northrop & Johnson Asia has been appointed Central Charter Agent for the luxury 51m yacht, officially launched early 2014.

This beautiful sailing yacht, built by Konjo Boat Builders, incorporates the best of worlds, combining Indonesia's finest traditional woodworking skills passed from one generation unto the next, with the latest light and sound technology.

Dunia Baru - easy living in the master suite -  .. .

Built with a meticulous attention to detail and finish and including a powerful traditional sailing rig, the lucky charterer can relive times gone by while cruising the Indonesian waters under full sail; an adventure of a lifetime!

With timber is becoming more and more a prized resource, such is the craftsmanship in this yacht with various timbers, the vessel is almost more of an art piece than it is a yacht. Graceful and stylish, finished with astonishing attention to detail, the 51m / 167’ Dunia Baru accommodates 14 guests.

Dunia Baru - every cabin is luxuriously appointed -  .. .

A professional crew of 18 (including a Cruise Director/PADI Master Scuba-Diver Trainer with 20,000 + dives, and a qualified chef), are there to deliver the utmost in service.

An impressive 11m / 36’ beam allows a spacious, full-beam master suite with king-sized bed and large windows throughout offering full panoramic views.

Dunia Baru bathrooms -  .. .

This suite has a large bathroom with over-sized shower and a private aft deck with daybed and sofa. Six airy and light guest cabins with natural daylight filtering through the portholes boast clean lines and an uncluttered style offering relaxed luxury at its best.

The main deck salon is furnished in warm, natural tones. Teak flooring combines with hand rubbed wall paneling. Guests can dine in, at the beautifully crafted salon dining table or around the unique teppanyaki grill in the show gourmet galley, or dine outside under the stars on the aft deck.

Dunia Baru Teppanyaki -  .. .

There is ample deck space on three levels; no matter the occasion, entertaining on a grand scale or seeking privacy for smaller parties, Dunia Baru has plenty of covered as well as open areas, perfect for the equatorial climate of the Indonesian archipelago.

Charter guests can explore the many uninhabited islands, alternating with watersport activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and have the use of two jetskis under guidance of instructors. Leisurely days on board lounging in the sun or shade are of course also an option.

Dunia Baru at sunset, what better holiday... -  .. .
