For the next 72 hours the majority of the World ARC fleet will be moored in Flying Fish Cove on Christmas Island. The crews will have been planning their 48 hours stopover here before leaving Bali so they can make the most of it.

Christmas Island is one of the jewels of the Indian Ocean and has a lot to offer. 63% of its land mass is made of National Park which is home to many endemic species. This natural world is also populated with a diverse human population which is an interesting amalgam of cultures and history.

The World ARC stop in Christmas Island would not be possible without the support of the the staff of the Christmas Island Tourist Association and the Harbourmaster, Dave Robertson. Flying Fish Cove is not usually a pin on he circumnavigator's chart and that makes the World ARC visit of up to 20 yachts, even more special.

The World ARC crews will visit the island on jungle tours, available through local tour operators Island Explorer Holidays. Their tour guide, Lisa, will also host a BBQ ashore on Thursday before continuing their way to Cocos Keeling Islands.
