Trailer boats are on trend at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show

by Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show on 20 May 2014
Stefan Boating World will have a large range of trailerable boats on show at SCIBS. Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show http://www.sanctuarycoveboatshow.com.au/
You see them buzzing over waterways and offshore for every type of use, from game fishing to day jaunts on bays and beaches on every coastline. Beloved for their versatility, portability and economy, the trailer boat segment is proving as popular as ever.

From sexy ski boats to the ubiquitous tinnie, there’s something for everybody at this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS).

Head of Events at Mulpha Sanctuary Cove, Johan Hasser says there has been above average response from trailer boat dealers for the 2014 edition of the show.

'We are very pleased with the exhibitor response. Trailer boats are very strong this year. We have completely sold out space available for the trailerable brands, many of whom are returning after a few years away from SCIBS.'

At this year’s SCIBS, Stefan boating World will be presenting a selection of Karnic and RIBs.

As the recently appointed Queensland dealer of Evolution Boats, Stefan Boating World will be exhibiting a selection of this range of high quality offshore fishing boats. Evolution Boats is represented by the high profile Aussie fishing personality Al McGlashan and is considered a reputable fishing boat for all conditions and waterways around Australia.

Stefan Boating World is also the newly appointed dealer for Queensland of American brand, Scout Boats and their range of award-winning, centre console and sports fishing boats.

'The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show brings in a wide market of boaties, and with our amazing range of boats we can cater for all: families, keen fisherman and those simply wanting to have a great day out on the water,' says Stefan.

Stefan says he is looking forward to showcasing a range of new boats that he says will reveal something people haven’t seen before, both in design and quality.

A long-time exhibitor at SCIBS, Collins Marine will be launching the Arvor 605 Sportfish at the 2014 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

Designed for the North Sea and built in Europe, the Arvor Sportfish brings together old school values with modern design. There is the walk-around bow, huge self-draining cockpit and bait holding tanks, as well as large lockable cabin, but with a modern feel and luxury fittings.

At the helm you’ll find the large flat wrap-around windscreen, opening side hatches and huge sun roof that allows light and air to flood in. The ability to close up the hatches and bunker down means you’re safe from rain and icy wind on those days that turn nasty. Occupants can enjoy boating 12 months of the year on any waterway.

A hit at last year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, the Arvor Weekender will be back again this year at the Collins Marine stand, offering a versatile, spacious day boat or fishing boat with life’s little luxuries and room enough for seven.

The Weekender sports a single Cummins CMD 150hp diesel, mid-mounted for superior balance and driving a shaft for ultimate reliability. Top speed is 22 knots and fuel economy is something petrol outboards and stern drives can only dream about.

Leading Gold Coast boat dealership, Game & Leisure Boats, will present an exceptional range of leading sports, fishing and family trailerable boats at this year’s SCIBS.

Leading the display will be the Regal 2300 and 2100 bow riders. In the fishing category, America’s leading sport fishing range, Grady-White will be represented by the versatile Grady-White Fisherman 180, and for the first time, Game & Leisure Boats will present a Caribbean Cavalier and Reef Runner from the legendary Australian builder.

Recently crowned the Trailerboat Magazine Sports Boat of the Year, the Regal 2100 stands head and shoulders above the competition. Every fine detail is considered in the layout and finish of this stunning bow rider, with the fit out, function and performance blending to create the perfect family sport boat. The ‘Fast Trac’ hull is designed to disperse water optimally creating a softer ride, faster speed and better fuel performance.

Nitro Marine will be back this year with a range of 2014 motors and models on display, including a selection of Mercury branded inflatables and RIBs on show. Nitro Marine also represents the Blue Fin aluminium range of boats and will have some at this year’s SCIBS.

In addition, there will be the Crownline 18SS bowrider and CSB Huntsman 5-metre La Plata cabin boat, plus two models from the Pioneer range: the Pioneer 197 Sportfish with Mercury 150hp 4-stroke and the Pioneer 197 Islander, with Mercury 150hp 4-stroke.

Sircocco Marine North will be out in full force, with an impressive line-up of 10 BRIG boats, a Williams 325, plus the Chaparral 19 H2O Sport, the Robalo 180 Centre Console and Sealegs 7.7 Wide Console Professional.

Returning for a second year at SCIBS, Noble Boats will showcase a diverse range of products in 2014. The brand will have Noble dinghies on display, from 3.6m to 5m, as well as the Noble 5.8m Centre Cabin Targa, Noble 6.25m Centre Cabin Hardtop, Noble Aluminium V-Hull Rigid Inflatable Boats in the 3m and 3.7m models.

There will also be several models in the Noble Inflatable Boats with flat aluminium flooring.

Along with a line-up of Sea Ray and Boston Whaler on-water, Queensland Marine Centre will have a selection of trailerable boats from these brands and MasterCraft on their stand – 12 boats in all. Rob Brown from QMC says the team there anticipates a good show this year, and like all exhibitors, are hopeful for good weather to bring out the boaties.
Broadwater Boating will be bringing up to eight Gold Coast-made Stejcraft boats, fibreglass cuddy cabs and cruisers up to 6.4m, along with a new release from the US, Caravelle Powerboats, a fibreglass, bowrider range of boats suited to the family and leisure markets.

Another new entrant to the Australian market and ideal for waterways around the Gold Coast, is the Razor range of pontoon boats. The 219 will be on display which is a kind of hybrid pontoon boat, built for entertainment but versatile enough for fishing, skiing and other activities.

From Fraser Marine, two great examples of the Caribbean range of boats, proudly designed and built in Australia for 55 years. Fraser Marine will have the popular models the 2300 and 2400 on show, which they describe as 'half cabin, outboard boats that are just as suited to game fishing as they are to the family day boat market'.

Northside Marine is bringing some awesome ski boats to SCIBS, in the form of the brand new 2014 Malibu Wakesetter 23LSV, making its Australian show debut alongside two other models from the brand, a 20-ft VTX and 21-ft VLX. The Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV has been fully redesigned for 2014 and includes numerous enhancements to improve the on-water experience.

Northside Marine will also present five boats under the Whittley badge, three cruisers and two Sea Legends.
The Bayliner and Crestliner brands will be represented by C-Worthy Marine. Among its line-up of four Bayliner boats, is the all-new 2014 190 Deckboat – a new product for the brand which it predicts will be a hit at SCIBS.

The 190 Deckboat is a Pontoon style entertainer, with comfortable interior for cruising and a fuel-efficient Mercury outboard to get the 190 up on plane fast, even with the maximum of 11 onboard.

In the Crestliner brand, C-Worthy will exhibit the 16-ft Kodiac side console and 1650 Fishhawk models.
Sponsored by Club Marine and Maserati EuroMarque Brisbane, SCIBS 2014 will run from May 22 to 25.

The 2014 Boat Show will showcase a wide variety of international boating brands, products and technologies on display alongside the superb backdrop of the award-winning Sanctuary Cove marina and The Marine Village.

Offering something for the whole family, SCIBS will also feature a full program of live entertainment, cooking demonstrations and seminars as well as a kids zone and Women on Water program throughout the four-day event.

Tickets are on sale now at www.sanctuarycoveboatshow.com and through Ticketmaster. Adult day passes start at $20, with concession passes available for seniors and students. Children under 18 are free. Visit www.ticketmaster.com.au for more information.
