Shuairan - Uniting the super-world of motor and sailing yachts

It's said to 'unite the world of motor yachts and sailing yachts' but she looks more like a sailing yacht from a science fiction movie. Is this how the sailing boat of the future will look - before the oil runs out?

Shuairan is a concept for a 35m sailing yacht, which is the latest project of Italian yacht designer Pannone Architetti.

According to Superyacht Times her 'sleek exterior lines with high-bulwark and large windows create an aerodynamic look, whilst offering her guests a light and airy atmosphere inside.'

Proud of the sleek shape of the vessel, Pannone Architetti have also designed the night lighting to emphasise the sculptural form of the exterior.

At the stern is a configuration of sofas as that of motor yachts, but with two consoles for instruments next to the two rudders. Forward to the rudders, Shuairan extends her versatility with the external dinette and relaxing sunning area, which are both removable in order to leave more freedom to maneuver in a regatta.

Guests are accommodated in three en-suite luxury cabins as well as an elegant master cabin, located forward with full beam bathroom.

The deckhouse, as mentioned, has sculptural forms, but aerodynamic. According to the designers, the inspiration comes from observation of the fish and their gills. At the bow of the deckhouse Pannone Architetti created a sunning area with sofa and sunbed which can be dismantled for serious sailing.

As for the interior, there is a dinette under the deckhouse. At the stern, there is the area with two crew cabins for the crew and one for the captain, kitchen and technical area.
