by Kate Elkington on 30 Apr 2013
2013 Multihull Solutions Whitsunday Rendezvous Kate Elkington
2013 Multihull Solutions Whitsunday Rendezvous is being held from from second to 8th September. Now recognised as Australia’s premier power and sail multihull cruising rally, the Multihull Solutions Whitsunday Rendezvous is set to be bigger and more exciting than ever before.

The 2013 itinerary and entry form – now online here – reveals plans for a week of superb sailing through the Whitsunday islands with frequent stops for unforgettable social functions, exploring and relaxing.

Relaxed power and sailing rallies around the idyllic islands are punctuated by social functions including a Welcome function in Airlie Beach, dining at Cape Gloucester Eco-Resort, the famous Prawn and Punch party at Whitehaven Beach, figurehead competitions, and a fantastic Presentation Dinner on Hamilton Island at the conclusion of the Rendezvous. Making the most of the breathtaking scenery, the week also includes activities such as island bushwalks, fishing, snorkelling and beach games.

Competition again will be fierce to secure the range of prizes on offer for those who best embrace the event’s defining spirit of fun.

The Multihull Rendezvous continues to be hugely popular because of its formula that brings together serious sailors and leisurely cruisers in a spectacular environment.

Multihull Solutions managing director Mark Elkington said the Rendezvous has become a major calendar event for the company with most previous participants returning year after year.

'Multihull sailors are a more relaxed breed and know how to truly enjoy themselves,' Mark said.

'Over the past few years, we’ve created a truly memorable event that brings attracts a great bunch of people who really know how to fully appreciate the sailing and social action in the breathtaking Whitsundays.

'The Rendezvous has also become a very effective forum for multihull enthusiasts to view other catamaran and trimaran brands and models, while exchanging cruising stories and multihull tips.'

The Multihull Solutions team hosts the event and is on hand each day to provide valuable information on maximising the performance and handling of their boat, as well as tips on options to make cruising life even easier.

The Multihull Rendezvous is not limited to those with their own boats. If entrants can’t relocate their own multihull or do not own a boat, the various Whitsunday charter companies offer a range of options so everyone can join the action.

Entry details and further information on the 2013 Multihull Rendezvous can be obtained by visiting the Multihull website.
