The Global Marina Institute (GMI) is pleased to announce the awarding of Honorary Certified Marina Professional (CMP) designation to Larry Halgren.

This is the seventh of eight honorary CMP designations awarded to acknowledge long standing leaders in the marina industries across the globe.

Jeff d’Albora on behalf of the Global Marina Institute (GMI) presented the designation to Larry during the recent USA Marine Recreation Association Annual Conference & Trade Exhibition.

Larry has widely acknowledged expertise in the marina industry with over 35 years of experience in sales and management. He is the founder and principal of Halgren and Associates LLC, an international marina and waterfront consulting firm and worked for Bellingham Marine Industries for 22 years. He is Past President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the International Marina Institute having served for six years.

GMI Director Jeff d'Albora said Larry has made an outstanding contribution to the industry both in the USA and aboard. 'He is a most fitting recipient of honorary CMP status. GMI announced the awarding of limited honorary CMP designations when this new industry certification commenced in 2012. These honorary awards set the tone for CMP and provide an aspirational certification for those involved across the breadth of the marina industries'.

Larry Halgren said he was very pleased to receive the honorary award. He added 'GMI is to be congratulated on expanding the career pathway for the marina industries by building on the well-established and recognized Certified Marina Manager (CMM) designation'.

GMI Chairman Mick Bettesworth also expressed his congratulations to Larry Halgren. He said the CMP provides the opportunity for proven industry professionals not directly managing a marina to benefit from the certification that includes both a commitment to ongoing professional development and to the provision of industry leadership.
