Club Marine launches extended warranty insurance

by Club Marine/AIMEX on 9 Apr 2013
New boats will benefit from extended warranty insurance. SW
Club Marine, Australia’s largest provider of recreational boating insurance, is delighted to announce Club Marine Boat Warranty Insurance, a new insurance product designed to extend a new or used boat’s warranty cover.

When purchasing a new boat from a dealership, the boat is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, which is typically two to five years. Now boat owners have the option to extend the manufacturer’s warranty by purchasing Club Marine Warranty for New Boats.

An extended warranty for new boats can be purchased either when buying the boat, or later on, but before the manufacturer’s warranty expires. With this option, cover is provided for repairs or replacement of parts, similar to the original manufacturer’s boat warranty, once that warranty has expired. The policy term can be 12, 24 or 36 months, or up to a maximum of 500 hours of operation.

For example, by purchasing a 24-month Club Marine Boat Warranty Insurance policy for a new boat that comes with a three-year manufacturer’s warranty, the buyer effectively has a five-year warranty.

Many used boat dealerships offer a warranty on used boats, which usually covers a shorter period after purchase. Customers who purchase a used boat that’s no longer covered by a manufacturer’s warranty and wish to extend their coverage beyond the expiry of cover offered by the dealership, can now do so with Club Marine Boat Warranty Insurance for Used Boats. They can choose a policy term of 12 or 24 months, or up to a maximum of 500 hours of operation.

Club Marine CEO Greg Fisher says: 'Club Marine Boat Warranty Insurance lets boat owners enjoy their boat without any concerns about the cost and inconvenience of mechanical failure. Not only does it protect their investment by helping to prolong the life of their boat and maintain its value, for a once-off payment it will get their vessel back on the water sooner, and our quality-guaranteed repairs will help keep it there longer.'

Club Marine Boat Warranty Insurance for both new and used boats can be transferred to the new owner should the vessel be sold privately.

Club Marine Boat Warranty Insurance is now available through the network of Club Marine Platinum Partners. For full details on terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions, or to receive a quote, visit a Club Marine Platinum Partner.
