Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of the Manning River next weekend for the safe staging of powerboat races.
Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence to the Independent Power Boat Club to host the event on the Manning River between 8am and 5pm on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May.
The event area on the Manning River between Martin Bridge and Dumaresq Island at Taree will be marked by buoys and monitored by control vessels.
Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the marked area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
