Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of Cudgen Creek next weekend for the safe staging of a triathlon.
Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence to QSM Sports to host the event on Cudgen Creek between 6.30am and 10am on Sunday 15 February 2015.
An event area will be marked by buoys and monitored by control vessels between the Faulks Park boat ramp upstream to Jack Julius Park.
Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the marked area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer. Vessel operators are reminded not to exceed four knots and produce no wash.
Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
