Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of Botany Bay at Sans Souci in the first weekend of May for the safe staging of jet-ski races.
Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence to Australian Jet Sports Boating Association for the event on Saturday Two and Sunday Three May between 6am and 6pm in the vicinity of the St George Sailing Club.
An event area will be established parallel to Rocky Point Beach with a course running about 300 meters in an east/ west direction and extending about 200 metres from the shore.
The area will be marked by yellow buoys and monitored by control vessels.
Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the marked area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
