For the 2014 Airlie Beach Race Week a Whitsunday business has pledged its full commitment behind the special 25th anniversary to be held in August this year.

Whitsunday Sailing Club has announced Vision Surveys as the new and proud naming rights sponsor of Airlie Beach Race Week, one of the biggest events in the region.

Whitsunday Sailing Club Commodore and Race Week Chairman Jim Hayes said he is thrilled to welcome the local survey business and directors Brian Forrester and David Wilson onboard in the 25th anniversary year of the event.

'We are very excited to work beside Vision Surveys this year to put on a very special regatta for our sailors,' Mr Hayes said, 'we are known to have real people, real sailing and real fun'.

Meanwhile, Mr Forrester expressed equal excitement to be involved in such an important event for the Whitsundays.

'Airlie Beach Race Week brings together everything we love about this area - tropical sailing on clean waters, with amazing scenery and wildlife, together with the real party atmosphere for which Airlie Beach is famous,' Mr Forrester said.

'This place has been really good to us and has supported our business for many years, so it’s great to be giving something back to show our appreciation,' he said.

With plenty of interest surrounding the 25th anniversary, Whitsunday Sailing Club is expecting the biggest event to date in 2014, with Vision Surveys welcoming the participants.

'We look forward to welcoming the entrants, crew and support teams for the visiting yachties to Airlie Beach, and encourage all local business operators to get behind this 25th annual race week and make it a memorable event for locals and visitors alike,' Mr Forrester said.

Airlie Beach Race Week will run from 8-15 August 2014 and entries are now open.
