Welcome to Sail-World Canada
Another triple for Wild Oats XI!
 | | WILD OATS XI on the final approach to Hobart on the morning of 27 December - 2012 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race © Rolex/Carlo Borlenghi | While slower yachts continue to arrive in Hobart to complete the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia's 2012 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, none of them can have an impact on the top winners any more; Wild Oats XI has been confirmed as the overall winner. Bob Oatley's 100-footer, skippered by Mark Richards has, once again, claimed a triple win; line honours, first overall and a new course record. They beat their own 2005 course record by over 16 minutes. Check out all our stories and images from the race below.

The Vendée Globe front-runners can expect to celebrate the New Year by waving to Cape Horn on their port side as they negotiate the always challenging Drake's passage separating Antarctica from South America. Although they can expect relatively clement weather for the passage, the skippers will need to remain vigilant, as many small icebergs have been sighted around the area for most of December. Jean-Pierre Dick and Alex Thomson, running third and fourth, also have the Southern Atlantic Ocean and the big left-hand turn in their sight while the remainder of the fleet is busy picking the best route through the Pacific ice gates.

Those who didn't receive all the boating items on their list to Santa can rejoice; Canadian boat shows season is upon us! The annual Toronto International Boat Show is first on the calendar and everything is set for January 12th at the Direct Energy Centre; Sail-World Canada will be on site sharing space with Canadian Yachting Magazine. More details about boat show schedule for western and eastern Canada in upcoming weeks.
Best wishes for 2013!
