With the Raja Muda and the Phuket King's Cup safely tucked away, it must be time to write Christmas cards and go shopping, right? But no, there's one more event first - the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous, in Phuket. When a fleet of power and sailing superyachts get together for two days of laid back 'racing' and three evenings of first class partying. Reports, here, over the next couple of days. I guess the Christmas cards will just have to wait.
Bashing their way around Antarctica, the Vendee Globe suddenly seems to have turned into a two-boat race. Alex Thomson got slowed down badly a couple of days ago when he hit something hard, and sustained damage to his hydro. Meanwhile, Francois Gabart and Armel Le Cleac'h hooked onto a weather system and surfed away from the opposition. But it's not all over yet - remember, first objective is to keep the boat in one piece, and finish. Anything can happen between Australia and Les Sables d'Olonne - and probably will.
