Catch up on the news from around the world for cruising sailors
 | | Another day, another rescue as a yacht's motor fails to start Mark Rothfield | Welcome to another edition of the Sail-World Cruising news magazine, where we bring you the top news about what's happening in the world of the non-competing sailor.
 | | Mehitable rescue - the sailors are brought on board a bulk carrier .. . | You have to feel sympathy for our good friends in need, the rescuers, sometimes.
They have to overcome many privations and frustrations in order to keep up with the amazing tally of sea rescues existing today.

Plenty of other news – read about how the North Sea Passage could be ice-free very early for intrepid sailing adventurers; there are two yacht features – one on the newest X yacht, a fast and ingenious cruising boat, and John Curnow talks to an owner about how successful is his Beneteau Oceanis 45; there's a sobering message about pirate zones, and some great practical articles: 'occasional' solar power may solve the power problem on your boat; check out your essential knot tying skills; and John Jamieson has some excellent advice about filing a float plan with your friends or family before you leave home.
That's the tip of the iceberg – browse down the headlines to find your interest
Sweet sailing!
