Sailing news - All the latest Local and International news

Welcome to this week's edition of our Sail-World.com European newsletter.

The intrepid solo sailors of Solitaire du Figaro completed four gruelling legs, with Armel Le Cléac'h on Brit Air being crowned the ultimate winner. 'Winning the Figaro like this it's pure joy. I came to take my revenge for last year's bad performance' Le Cléac'h said. Revenge indeed as he claimed three of the four legs on his way to victory.

In the latest ISAF World Sailing Rankings Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CROA) Finn, Evi Van Acker (BEL) Laser Radial, Ingrid Petitjean and Nadège Douroux (FRA) W 470, Emmanuel Dyen and Stéphane Christidis (FRA) 49er, Ivan Pastor lafuente (ESP) RS:X M and Marina Alabau (ESP) RS:X W all retain their number one positions.

The 470 Junior Europeans have concluded, the Audi MedCup Circuit is ready for another event, the Finn class sailors are in San Francisco (USA) for the Silver Cup, J24 Worlds have just finished in Sweden and the International Moth European title has been won in Switzerland.

Overseas after the adrenalin rush of Skandia Sail for Gold, the Rolex Commodores' Cup has been won, Ireland is gearing up for the Etchells World Championship, 127 Dart 18's will compete at the Worlds at Weymouth and Portland Academy ... and there is much, much more.

Have a wonderful week, and don't forget to check out Sail-World.com for all the latest local and international news.
