The Fun Theory
Take a moment to watch this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lXh2n0aPyw
This clip was recommended to me by an advertising guru, who points out that making something fun is the best way to get people engaged, in even the most mundane activity. Extrapolating then, boating, with all its health benefits, family bonding opportunities and absolute fun should have no problems convincing people to get into it.
All that's needed now is an industry alliance, similar to Discover Boating in the US and NZ, to promote the lifestyle and leisure facets of boating. Watch this space!
This week, along with boat show news, product launches and the usual assortment of innovations – such as PlanetSolar, Plastiki and the electric “sofa boat” which launched in Abu Dhabi – we present several features including a look at China's commitment to growing the recreational boating sector, what Peter Garrett's “demotion” (a Clayton's one) means for fishing, boating and marine park expansion, opportunities for Australian and international businesses in the development of Auckland's Wynyard Quarter and the latest figures for the TetraMedia group, whose media footprint is expanding exponentially around the globe.
Keep in touch with your news and views.
