Stokey Woodall Rally route - popular with early joiners SW
Now that the news is out and about, the schedule and route of the Stokey Woodall Atlantic Circuit Rally(SWAC), which begins in October 2014, has been met on both sides of the Atlantic with a good reaction and lots of enthusiasm. The SWAC rally is basically made up of two legs. A Westbound Atlantic passage and an Eastbound Atlantic passage with various highly recommended optional cruises interlinking the whole event.
SWAC, helmed by Stuart Gough and Stokey Woodall together, offers a different sailing route, different timing, different starting and finishing ports from anything cruisers have been offered before in trans-Atlantic rallies.
'A breath of fresh air' is how one seasoned sailor described it in an email sent after he had viewed the latest information on the SWAC website.
Each segment of the rally has been put together to produce a near seamless passage of wonderful sailing, that takes in 23 different countries, 25 different islands and 37 different ports. With a built-in variety of options that allow yachts to leave and re-join the event in many different ports along the route.

Save the Dates:
If you are interested in joining the rally, here are several very important dates to include in your diary over the coming months, starting with the the SWAC Seminar in Southampton UK (if you can make it).
* The Southampton Seminar will be held at the Southampton University during the Southampton Boat Show in September 2013. This will be a full day seminar presented by the SWAC team on a date to be announced in the second week of July.
* The SWAC presentation will be held at the London Boat Show, Excel in January 2014.
But if you can't make those, because you're on the 'other' side of the Atlantic, there's another seminar for you:
* The Miami Seminar will be held during the International Miami Boat Show 13th February - 17th February 2014
The entry list for the 2014 SWAC International Rally officially opens on the first of September 2013. Which amazingly is less than six weeks away. With over 15 provisional bookings taken already...it is probably time to start giving your entry some serious consideration.
